鮎牛蒡 Ayugobou

あゆごぼう、と読みます。咲穂 vocal, piano と芦川和樹 drums のデュオで、即興と歌（ポップス）をやります。ふたりだといろいろ大変なので、この頃はゲストを迎えてトリオで演奏することがほとんどです。今年はチェロの徳澤青弦さん、バリトンサックスの本藤美咲さんに加わってもらいました。須川さんとは何回目ですか「発光、ぱぐ！か、ロブスター」という名前で、詩をよんだり、もうそれポップスじゃなくない？みたいな、いやまだ大丈夫でしょと思いますけど、そういう音楽を、やります。

The duo consists of Sakiho (vocals, piano) and Kazuki Ashikawa (drums), performing a blend of improvisation and pop songs. Since playing as a duo can be quite a challenge, we’ve recently been performing mostly as a trio with guest musicians. This year, we invited Seigen Tokuzawa on cello and Misaki Motofuji on baritone saxophone.

As for performances with Takashi Sugawa, how many times has it been now? Under the name “Luminescence, Pug! or Lobster,” we read poetry and create music that might make people say, “Wait, is this still pop music?”—and we’d reply, “Yeah, it still is… probably.” That’s the kind of sound we make.

須川崇志 Takashi Sugawa

東京都在住のジャズベーシスト／チェロ奏者、作曲家。群馬県伊勢崎市出身で、11歳からチェロ、18歳からコントラバスを始める。ソロを始め、様々なフォーマットでの即興演奏を主軸に活動。これまでに日野皓正クインテットや渡辺貞夫カルテットなどに参加した。現在は、自身が主宰するBanksia Trio（林正樹, 石若駿）をはじめ、峰厚介カルテット、森山威男カルテットなど多くのグループに参加し、東京JAZZやモントルー・ジャズ・フェスティバル、メールス・フェスティバルなど、国内外のフェスティバルにも多数出演している。（芦川付記。Banksia Trioの新作『LIVE』が発売したばかりです、わたしはこの日に買う。）

Tokyo-based jazz bassist, cellist, and composer. Born in Isesaki City, Gunma Prefecture, he began playing the cello at age 11 and the double bass at 18.
He focuses on improvisational performance in various formats, from solo to ensemble. Sugawa has performed with the Terumasa Hino Quintet, Sadao Watanabe Quartet, and many others.

Currently, he is active in numerous groups including his own Banksia Trio (with Masaki Hayashi and Shun Ishiwaka), the Kosuke Mine Quartet, and the Takeo Moriyama Quartet. He has appeared at major festivals such as Tokyo Jazz Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, and Moers Festival.
